Can I sign a Contract in languages other than English?

No, signing a Contract other than English is not possible as we or our Sellers cannot provide any contracts in any other language but English prior to a purchase or sale.

MWPS and its Sellers are operating under the standard and officially recognized business language of English and as we are a globally operating business, we or our Sellers could not accommodate to provide Sales or any other contracts we may propose in every other existing local language. To sign a contract, we advise that you will seek legal counsel from an attorney specializing in international trading to translate and advise you of the terms and conditions of the contracts you will be signing prior to any purchase or sale and the commitment you make by signing an agreement received by us in the English language.

Does the seller or MWPS provide warranty?

NEW EQUIPMENT

All new products sold by MWPS is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty programs and subject to the manufacturer’s terms & conditions. All warranty claims must be requested and processed directly with and through the manufacturer’s warranty support.

MWPS will gladly assist you with processing warranty claims for items purchased from us. We can also assist and direct you with any replacement parts or accessories you may need to order.

Please note: Improper installation or operation of your wind turbine will null and void your manufacturer warranty. Your system must be installed by a qualified installer. Wind turbines, like other sources of electrical power, must be installed following the guidelines established by your state/province and local regulations. Consult a local electrical contractor or the local planning and zoning office for details and regulations.

Warranty Periods

Most wind turbines come with a standard 1-2 year manufacturer warranty. The exact length of the warranty will be shown on your final invoice for the products purchased from us. Various extended warranties are also offered by the majority of our manufacturers. Extended warranties must be bought at the time of your wind turbine order. Please inquire for prices on extended warranties by contacting us via email.

SECOND HAND & USED EQUIPMENT

MWPS only sells second hand or used equipment of specific makes and models which can change at any time (please inquire about our current list) mainly provides a brokering service for used and second-hand equipment by introducing buyers and sellers to complete a purchase transaction. Therefore MWPS can not provide any warranty on second hand or used equipment.

Used wind turbines are usually put up for sale by an owner after approx. 10 years or more in operation and therefore, a warranty can also not and will not be given by the seller as the equipment’s manufacturer warranty would already have expired during its time of operation. Standard manufacturer warranties are usually given for no more than 2 years from the date of purchase and used or second-hand equipment is unlikely to be put up for sale within only 2 years of purchase. In the event that warranty can or will be given by a seller of used or second-hand equipment (refurbished or rebuild equipment), then this will be clearly indicated in the relevant advert.

In the event that a seller is selling his used equipment still under warranty and within the manufacturer’s warranty period, the manufacturer’s terms & conditions usually exclude liability for the warranty given to any third party other than the initial buyer.

REFURBISHED EQUIPMENT

Some of our advertised equipment is offered by our sellers in ‘refurbished’ condition which means that main parts, which are subject to wear and tear (ball bearings etc) had been replaced and are either new or refurbished or and a cosmetic overhaul been undertaken.

However, a warranty on refurbished or rebuild equipment is usually for a period of 1 year from date of purchase and in most cases limited only to new parts, refurbished parts and workmanship on a back to supplier basis. (Buyer is responsible for shipping the defective part/s to the manufacturer). Some sellers of refurbished equipment only provide warranty in connection with an additional service and maintenance contract for the equipment purchased. Such ‘refurbishing’ sellers can often also provide an extended warranty in connection with a service & maintenance contract for the same extended period. Please refer to the advent of the equipment you are interested in and see if the equipment is in the ‘refurbished’ condition and if it is sold with a warranty.

REMANUFACTURED EQUIPMENT

Some of our advertised equipment is offered by our sellers in ‘remanufactured’ condition which means the equipment is completely overhauled, all major parts replaced and new and in most cases, the equipment been brought up to the latest technology available and technically updated (controllers) and is in superior condition than the equipment when it was originally purchased. such equipment always comes with warranty with a minimum of between 1 to 2 years from the date of purchase and in some cases up to 5 years and beyond in connection with a service & maintenance contract for the same period.

I want to buy a wind turbine – What is the process?

If you are interested in purchasing any of the equipment advertised on our marketplace, please contact us via email by using the ‘contact’ form which you can find just above the Google map on the top right-hand side of the advert. Once we have reviewed your inquiry, we will ask you to disclose more information about yourself, your company and the current status of your project. We will send you an email reply and ask you to fill out and submit our project evaluation form which is password protected. We will provide you with your dedicated password in our email reply to you.

Once we have reviewed your project information, we will contact you and send you our standard NDA/NCA (non-disclosure/non-circumvent) agreement to sign and return to us. We will also ask you to provide us with an LOI (Letter of Intent) printed and signed on your company or personal letterhead which we will need to introduce you to the seller/s.

Once all the above has been received, we will introduce you to the seller of the advertised equipment and arrange for you to inspect the equipment at its location. If you thereafter decide to proceed, contract negotiations between yourself and the seller will commence. We assist both sellers and buyers in the negotiations until the close of a deal.

Problems uploading files?

The most common reasons for this are the user’s browser or device settings. Please follow the below simple tips and steps to resolve and then try again.

Try to refresh the page you are using to upload.

On a desktop or laptop device: Press and hold the ‘control’ key and then press the ‘F5’ key while holding the control key  (Ctrl + F5)

On a tablet or smartphone device: Click the circled refresh arrow in your browser window, usually located at the top right-hand or top left-hand side.

If refreshing your current page did not resolve the problem and your upload still does not complete, then try to clean the browsing history and the cache & cookies of the browser you are using.

If both steps 1. and 2. above did not resolve the issue, then try using a different browser and follow both steps 1. and step 2. as described above again in the new browser if the same problem occurs. All common and popular browser applications (listed below) and for all device types are known to be fully compatible and should work for you as intended.

  1. Google Chrome
  2. Mozilla Firefox
  3. Microsoft Edge
  4. Microsoft Explorer

What Are MWPS’ Commission Fees?

We keep service agreements for our clients very simple and can offer tailor-made MWPS Commission Fees and rates that are always appropriate to what actually is on offer for sale. For example, the quantity and the number of units to be marketed and the equipment’s total current market value play a vital role in determining the most competitive sales commission rate applicable to you.

Typically, for smaller sized equipment we charge a slightly higher sales commission than for large-sized equipment so as not to risk to out-price your equipment when going to market. We can offer both, exclusive and non-exclusive services. Our ‘non-exclusive’ service is usually 1.5% – 2% higher than our ‘exclusive’ brokerage service. As an example, for one unit of a 250KW – 1000kW turbine, we would ask for 7% ‘non-exclusive’ and a 5% ‘exclusive’ sales commission. But for let’s say for a complete wind park of 10+ units of 2MW+ turbines, we would ask the seller for only 3% sales commission for a ‘non-exclusive’ or 2% for an ‘exclusive’ service.

For smaller-sized turbines or spare parts under 250kW which usually have a much lower sales price, we would assess your equipment individually and would be able to offer you a flat fee commission rate. Both of the above, flat fee or percentage-based commission fees are just two examples but we are aware that each customer and their sales campaign are individual so we will always try to accommodate our clients as best as we can and will aim to be flexible and open to negotiations in order to assure that we meet each of our client’s individual requirements.

Can I pay with a Letter of Credit?

This depends solely on the seller if he accepts an LC (Letter of Credit) as a payment method. Strictly speaking, the use and second-hand wind turbines market is a ‘cash payment only’ market, and the standard method of payment is generally expected and in most cases, the only option accepted by sellers is by the bank to bank transfer.

In some cases, a seller may accept an LC as payment but as there are a number of different types of LC’s on offer by many international banks, usually a seller, if he is prepared to accept an LC payment method, will insist on a so-called ‘Irrevocable LC’ is being used. As the setting up and receiving funds through an LC payment is often a very time-consuming process for both seller and buyer as well as the requirement to involve a number of other third parties, sellers may ask to charge an extra flat fee to be paid on top of the purchase price. This can vary from demands for administration costs only up to several thousand of € EUR more.

LC payment method is usually only a common and standard method of payment and widely accepted is for transactions for purchases of brand new equipment purchased from a manufacturer. LC payment is in most cases not a common or acceptable payment method for used or second-hand wind turbine purchases. However, we recommend informing your seller as early as possible that you would like to pay by LC and if he would consider avoiding for both parties to waste unnecessary time in negotiating or spending money on travel costs for inspections, etc. Just ask but do not be surprised that you will receive an abrupt short ‘No’ as an answer.

Please also consider that offering a seller to pay by LC, could put you at a disadvantage if you are bidding on a popular item and the seller has a number of offers from other interested buyers to choose from. Cash buyers always have an advantage and are always preferred by sellers, for obvious reasons.

Can I refrain from purchase after signing a Letter Of Intent?

Of course, you can. Signing an LOI (Letter of Intent) is not a binding agreement and solely expresses your intention to purchase for a specific price and authorizes the seller to obtain confirmation from your bank or financial institution that you have the finance in place to purchase should you wish to proceed. Only a fully executed PA (Purchase Agreement) will bind you to the agreed terms & conditions.

Can I reserve the turbines to buy before inspection?

In general, yes. Most sellers would agree on a ‘non-refundable’ reservation fee to hold the equipment on sale for a reasonable length of time until inspection. Such reservation fee may be up to 10% or more (depending on the length of time to hold) and is usually non-refundable but reduced from the final purchase price should you decide to proceed with the purchase after inspection.

Can MWPS provide Used Wind Turbines Finance?

Unfortunately, the answer is no when it comes to Wind Turbines Finance.

MWPS is not active in the financing business and MWPS does not offer any financing packages for the products offered on our website. Neither do the sellers that MWPS represents provide any finance options. The wind turbine business and especially the ‘used’ or ‘second hand’ wind turbine business is knowingly a ‘strictly cash’ transfer business where the release of goods is generally only released by the seller/owner after 100% of the sales price has been paid.

There are a small number of high street banks that offer financial services for ‘new’ wind turbines and renewable energy equipment or financial institutions which are specialized and dedicated in finance packages for worldwide renewable energy projects which can be easily found on the worldwide web. Usually, those sources do only provide finance on ‘new’ equipment and not on used or second-hand equipment.

Please note that neither MWPS nor the sellers/owners MWPS represents can engage in sales or purchase negotiations if the enquirer has not got 100% finance in place beforehand.

Do MWPS wind turbines comply with local legislation?

Although MWPS has good knowledge about general legislation laws of the most common countries that are most advanced in the wind industry and if we are able to answer specific questions relating to your residence and local legislation, we will be happy to answer your question to the best of our knowledge. However, as we are trading on a worldwide level, it is almost impossible for us to know or to have the precise answers if the equipment you intend to purchase will be in compliance with every country’s specific legislation laws or if the equipment in question will be permitted for installation in your country.

For this reason, MWPS is neither equipped nor qualified to give advice on local country legislation and you must undertake your own due diligence investigations to assure that the equipment you intend to purchase via MWPS is in compliance with your local legislation laws.

As part of advanced negotiations and as far as available from our individual sellers, MWPS will endeavor to provide you with as much technical documentation as possible prior to purchasing for you to use and investigate if the equipment is suitable in your country.

I want to buy a wind turbine, I’m not sure which one suits best?

Purchasing wind turbines and choosing the right one for your requirements largely depends on your area, average yearly wind speed, the purpose of use (for personal or business needs) as well as your budget and the type of building permit you are able to obtain. Usually, we don’t provide any buying recommendations if you not sure yourself about your needs and requirements but we can give advise and provide an Indicative energy assessment of your site (also referred to as a pre-feasibility study) at a moderate cost. Together with an assessment of your needs and budget, we can then advice and recommend a suitable new or second hand or refurbished wind turbine/s best suitable to you. To obtain a quote for an on-site assessment, please Email Us

I would like to buy more than 1 wind turbine, can I get a discount?

Possibly yes. This depends on each individual seller’s sales conditions and on the amount of equipment on offer. Some sellers are happy to negotiate a lower price if more than one unit is being purchased, some sellers have a minimum quantity before they would agree on a discount.

Is dismantling, shipping and other related costs included in price?

Each advert will exactly describe what is included or excluded in the listed price. Some equipment is already dismantled, some are not and the advert will say if dismantling will be extra or if the dismantling is included in the listed price. Shipping is never included in the price and needs to be quoted separately by your own shipping company or by one of our affiliated shipping partners specializing in heavy haulage transportation.

What is a LOI (Letter of Intent) and why do I need to sign it?

A LOI (Letter of Intent) is required from us to provide to our sellers and contains detailed information about yourself, your company, your confirmation of your intention to buy as well as the contact details of your bank or financial institution from whom the seller may want to obtain a soft probe and confirmation that you have the finance in place to proceed with a purchase.

Why can I not contact the seller directly?

You can contact the seller directly but not in the first instance. Once certain pre-conditions are fulfilled and an introduction between you and the seller has been made, you can contact the seller directly from then onward.

MWPS has NDA’s (Non-Disclosure Agreements) and Introducer Agreements with most sellers, whose equipment is advertised on our website in place. Under such agreements, MWPS is bound and obliged to undertake a vetting process in which every interested buyer or prospect will need to be evaluated first and the buyer’s project reviewed and successfully verified for suitability before an introduction to the sellers can be made. A prospect who is interested in the purchase of any of the equipment for sale on our website will have to sign and provide the following documents first to start off the selling process or to arrange inspections and thereafter can enter into direct negotiations with the seller:

⊂ Project Evaluation Form (Online Form – Basic Project Information)

⊂ NDA & NCA (Confidentiality,  Non-Disclosure and Non-Circumvent Agreement)

⊂ LOI (Letter of Intent)

Once these have been received, reviewed and successfully declared as satisfactory by us, an introduction to the seller will be made and thereafter, the buyer is entitled to contact and communicate with the seller directly from there onward. However, in all cases, MWPS will stay engaged in all communications between the seller and buyer during the sales process and will act as an intermediary. Buyers are advised to let MWPS negotiate any terms and conditions on behalf of you as this has proofed to be the most convenient and effective method to achieve a satisfactory agreement and outcome for both buyers and sellers.

The reason for this somewhat in-depth process is first to make sure that an interested buyer can not solicit a seller directly before an introduction by us has been made with the ill-intend to bypass MWPS as the seller’s sales agent and the hope to achieve a better sales price. The second main reason for this is that we will only engage with ‘genuine’ inquiries and that the inquiring prospect has a genuine project for development in place. The majority of inquiries we receive on a daily basis are mainly premature, for information only and therefore not genuine in respect of the intended purchase.

The selling process of Wind Turbine Equipment is a very time-intensive process in which many questions need to be answered and clarified. MWPS nor most of our sellers have the resources, time and means to engage in unnecessary communications or to arrange costly inspections for inquiries that are unlikely to result in a purchase. In many cases, enquirers do not even have land for their project allocated yet, often no approved building permission, no PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) or even their finance in place at the time of their inquiry. Such conditions indicate that the enquirer is not realistically in the position to purchase and therefore would only waste unnecessary time for all parties involved. In such cases, we always advise the enquirer to come back to us when these necessary preconditions are in place and when they are in the position to proceed with a purchase

Can you market wind turbines in operation?

Yes, we can. We can market and offer your wind turbine/s for sale even if they are still in operation. The wind turbine sales process is usually a long process and usually, a sale is planned well in advance, sometimes as far in advance as one year or more. It would be necessary for you to advise if you can dismantle the turbines currently in operation and if yes, for what price or if the buyer has to arrange to dismantle themselves.

How do you check the accuracy of my wind turbine’s listing?

If the location of your equipment is near to one of our representative’s offices, then we will conduct a physical inspection of your equipment for sale. If not, then we will need to rely on the information and picture material you provide to us. However, any interested buyer will in most cases insist on an inspection of your equipment before they decide to proceed with a purchase. Any misrepresentation of the true condition of your equipment will result in a prospective buyer not wanting to proceed with a purchase and will feed this back to us.

If we find that you have misrepresented your equipment, we will reserve the right to remove your advert or cease any further promotion without notice or make appropriate changes to the advertising to reflect the true condition of your equipment.

 View all FAQs..

How long does it take to find a buyer for my wind turbine/s?

The answer to this is that it very much depends on the make and model of your equipment and your expected asking price to determine how long it will take us to find a buyer. We will assess your equipment before the start of any marketing activity and will recommend a ‘true market value price for your equipment on offer. If your equipment is a popular make and model, the manufacturer is still in business and is realistically priced, then a buyer can be found in a very short period, potentially in the same week, we publish the first advert of your equipment. If your equipment is an unpopular make and model, the manufacturer perhaps not in business any longer and unrealistically priced too high, then your equipment might be unsalable. However, we will in the first instance try to achieve your expected asking price but if a buyer can not be found and response is very low in the first few months, then we will advise and recommend to you to drop the price in order to raise more interest.

MWPS will accept any turbine in any condition provided you will list all and every fault with the turbine so that your advertised listing will be a true reflection of the condition your turbine is in and to assure that our buying clients and viewers are not being misled. However, your asking price should also reflect the faulty or poor condition of your turbine and should be priced accordingly.

My wind turbine is located far from you, can I still submit a listing?

MWPS operates on a worldwide level and the location of your equipment is relatively irrelevant. However, equipment located in very far or remote locations, then the number of interested buyers may be not as high as usual due to the possible higher transportation costs

My wind turbine was in use for a very short time only, can you market as new?

The answer to this is no, we would not market any equipment branded as ‘new’ even if it was only in operation for a very short time. Once your equipment was installed and in operation, it must be advertised as ‘used’ but we will indicate in any promotional material and our advertising that the equipment has very low hours and can be seen ‘as new’
